I saw my regular doctor yesterday and she told me to go to a cardiologist for rirregular heart beat..which is scary. I have to have a heart monitor. My stroke was a blood clot. And she asked if I had an MRI since discharge..I am claustrophobic, and I already had 2in the hospital but I was asleep thru them. I alsomay have to have angiogram. Praying that I don't need the above when I go to the cardiologist. thankyou.🙏

katy777 I will agree with you that medical tests can be daunting particularly the MRI tube if you're claustrophobic. Had to have one myself in February for spinal issues. I got through it but am facing spinal surgery probably this summer. If I don't get the surgery, my problem will eventually progress to the point where I won't be able to walk at all. Currently I have mobility problems with chronic pain. It's not as dire as it sounds because of the medical care that is available to us in the U.S. We are so blessed and all I can feel is gratitude to God for being able to have something done about my medical condition. I cope as best I can with a cane or rollator depending on how I feel. TENS, far infrared heating pad, stretching plus pain meds both OTC and Rx keeps me as comfortable as I possibly can be. Physical therapy was prescribed in January and I had several weeks of it. Even went for cortisone injection in a hospital but that really didn't help. All of the conservative measures are being used so next step is surgery. Your irregular heartbeat is probably atrial fibrillation (A-fib) which can be kept under control. Heart monitor either 24 hour type or an event monitor that you wear for a month can detect frequency and type of irregular cardiac rhythm will be the easiest test. Take it one test at a time. You can be sedated for the MRI and an open MRI may allay your claustrophobic fears. I'll pray that you find the strength and courage to keep fighting to recover from your stroke and help to prevent another clot by getting these diagnostic tests done. 🙏

Prayers for you Katy. Perhaps if you do need the MRI you could ask for some form of relaxant? I hope all goes well for you. 🙏

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers katy777 . No one likes going for medical tests. However, for the most part, I've found them not to be as bad as I was dreading. Like you, I dread the MRI scanner. Indeed, I will never go in one again. They'll either need to anaesthetise me or settle for a CT scan. In the end it's always worth knowing the extent of one's illness so it can be properly treated.

Prayer to St. Luke:
Most charming and saintly Physician, you were animated by the heavenly Spirit of love. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, you also showed His divinity and His genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.
Amen.

Praise God and thank you all for your prayers.. I saw a cardiologist, finally. I put it off but went this past week I have a strong heart and only need to have a portable monitor for a month to wear. i will pick it up late June b cause I am going on vacation. It's not urgent. I will have an echo test too. No MRI unless these tests show something.but the doctor said my fast heart beat seems situational. 😊🙏

It's good to hear that things are better than you thought. The protable monitor will be a nuisance but nothing more. An echo test is just an ultrasound of the heart. The worst part is wiping the gel off afterwards but I suspect you won't have my problem which is a hairy chest, lol.
Hope all the tests go well. Enjoy your vacation and relax.
You remain on my family's prayer list.
