Since this is 2017, this thread is for discussion of the history of the apparitions at Fatima, the messages, your own personal experiences and devotional ideas, and so on. This thread is not meant for discussion of conspiracy theories about the Third Secret, promoting unauthorized apparitions and ministries, or violating any of the Rules of the Road. Our Lady of Fatima, ora pro nobis!

My moms group has a "travelling statue" of Our Lady of Fatima. She was crowned at our family picnic in May, then spends a few weeks in different homes. She's visiting us right now.

The Hispanics at our Parish also have a travelling statue that we send home with a different family each week at the conclusion of Mass. The family promises to pray the rosary fro the Spanish community during the week. (Our Lady of Guadalupe, of course, since nearly all are form Mexico originally.) WE have an image of Our Lady of La Salette in our chapel, but NO statue of Mary int he church proper. We're tried forming committees.......people have volunteered to buy the state of the pastor's choice...and still nothing.
Our Lady of Fatima...in this special year, come live with the people of St. Matthew.

We hosted Our Lady's statue a few years ago. A wonderful experience.

It could be because I have just made two First Saturdays, but I have sensed lately that Mary would like me to volunteer some works of penance. This was her request at Fatima, as I understand it, but while I'm faithful to the rosary, I have never felt any urgency to do penance for others. The three children were asked to undertake this, but I never felt called to it --- wonder why NOW? Deaf ears? Or is my new devotion to First Saturday, recently, an open heart to listen to Mary?
