Prayer To Obtain Favors (Christmas Novena) Say 15 times a day from St. Andrew's Day (30 November) until Christmas Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ and of His Blessed Mother. Amen (It is piously believed that whoever recites the above prayer fifteen times a day from the feast of St. Andrew until Christmas will obtain what is asked.) Imprimatur - Michael Augustine Corrigan - Archbishop of New York, N.Y. - February 6, 1897

I forgot to add these two useful tools to help with saying the St. Andrew's novena. The first one on YouTube is an audio/video recitation of the prayer. A woman says the prayer 15 times as a guitar softly plays Silent Night and a visual slide show of Nativity scenes appear. I occasionally use this to pray along while I am engaged in doing some chores around the house. The second one is a free app to install on your electronic device. I've got mine on my Kindle but I think it could be used on a smartphone. I prefer using this app as it keeps track of how many times you have said the prayer. That way I can focus more on why I am praying the novena and meditate on the Incarnation or the Holy Family. The app resets itself at midnight back to zero and will count up to 15 or beyond. I say the prayer 15 times for each intention that I have so it's very helpful to keep me straight. Each Advent I look forward to saying the novena and remind my family members not to forget to pray it daily. The beauty and power of the novena makes me want to keep this Catholic Christmas tradition alive. Hopefully many of you who read it on CCS will choose to do the same each year. m.youtube.com/watch?v=-cvJhhtpYfgplay.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miketruso.standrewnovena&hl=en_US&gl=US
