Finally got around to looking this priest up last night. Somehow I had been under the wrong impression that he was from Africa. Crazy, I know. He was a little old holy man from Naples with prophetic gifts, apparently.
I see he wrote a 33-volume 10,000-word Scripture commentary “La Sacra Scrittura” in which he took a patristic approach to interpretation and contained among other things predictions of a Great Monarch, a Great Pope, an Antichrist from Jerusalem etc. based on Revelation. Pope Pius XII put it on the Index of Forbidden Books, perhaps because Don Ruotolo had spoken against the historical-critical method of Scripture interpretation that the Vatican was trying to push because of science or ecumenism or some such rot IDK. In any event, given that the man is now a Servant of God and we’ve had other holy people like St Faustina and Servant of God Luisa Picaretta end up on the Index before it finally went kaput, shouldn’t be a problem reading it.
Of course I don’t expect anyone on here to have plowed through all 33 volumes, but I just wondered if anyone here had read any of it or had any devotion to Servant of God Don Ruotolo.
