www.churchmilitant.com/news/article/buffalo-bishops-refuse-to-investigate-possible-eucharistic-miracleWhat is this bishop's major malfunction? This is not complicated. Just do a DNA test. If it's bacteria, good to know. Nobody wants to believe in a false miracle. I know I certainly don't. If it is human DNA... even better to know. Looking at the characteristics of that human DNA could be quite the eye-opener. Palestinian Jewish male, DNA results extrapolated to have been prevalent there 2000 years ago (assuming such extrapolation is possible), you tell me. No human father...?It would give a lot of people something to consider. Incidentally, this Host was in all likelihood from a Novus Ordo Mass, celebrated by a priest with post-Vatican II orders. While removing the "ut" from the ordination prayer does have a bit of a "cringe factor" --- "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", a common-sense nugget of wisdom that was utterly disregarded by Bugnini (who finished his clerical career in Iran, guess someone had to do it) et al, so no surprises there --- nonetheless, this gives the lie to those who deny the sacramental validity of either the post-V2 Mass (less frequently asserted) or the post-V2 episcopal and/or priestly orders (asserted all the time, a major sticking point among many SSPX adherents). "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is echoed in Sacrosanctum concilium:
Finally, there must be no innovations unless the good of the Church genuinely and certainly requires them; and care must be taken that any new forms adopted should in some way grow organically from forms already existing. (SC 23) [emphasis mine]
