This horrible crime has left people feeling very angry and upset. If anyone would like to say a prayer for the families impacted please do: O God of spirits and of all flesh, Who hast trampled down death and overthrown the Devil, and given life to Thy world, do Thou, the same Lord, give rest to the souls of Thy departed servants in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing, and sorrow have fled away. Pardon every transgression which they have committed, whether by word or deed or thought. For Thou art a good God and lovest mankind; because there is no man who lives yet does not sin, for Thou only art without sin, Thy righteousness is to all eternity, and Thy word is truth. For Thou are the Resurrection, the Life, and the Repose of Thy servants who have fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thy Father, who is from everlasting, and Thine all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever unto ages of ages. Amen. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-england-65900735

Unusually, I'm lost for words. My youngest child graduates this summer. I can't begin to imagine, don't want to imagine, what those parents must be going through. Being a parent is scary enough without hearing these things on the news. Those events in Nottingham are just beyond tragic. My thoughts and prayers are with those wounded families.

The school caretaker killed in this incident had four months to go to retirement He was probably starting to plan out his retirement and look forward to it.

Father may the departed rest in your eternal kingdom. May they serve you forever and praise you. In your name, Jesus amen!

All very sad no matter what we add. Two young people at the start of their lives and an older gentleman probably greatly looking forward to his retirement.
I greatly annoy my wife in not planning what I'll do in retirement. I keep telling her when I'm retired I'll have plenty of time to decide what to do. I've known too many people who've dropped dead months into retirement. This atrocious incident in Nottingham is not the first time I've heard of someone close to retirement dying in tragic circumstances. I've been sensible and made all the appropriate financial provisions but I refuse to plan what I'll do with my time. I'll decide when I'm retired, if, God willing, I get there.
