The conflict in Ukraine is destroying lives everyday. Ukraine has put up a heroic fight, and I have no doubt that Russia will be unable to destroy independent Ukraine, even if it is able to take some of is territories. However, Ukraine is haemorrhaging men every day. If you look at a random post on a Ukrainian Facebook page, and then click on the profiles of people who "liked" the post, half of them have filled their Facebook pages with information about various men missing at the front, e.g. "have you seen my friend's son, date of birth x date in 2001, went missing near Bakhmut on X day", etc. Ukrainians are dying every day, both civilians and soldiers. I am convinced that the best solution is peace, for we lose nothing with peace and everything with war.
I would also like to pray for the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians who do not have a church to go to because it has been confiscated by the authorities or transferred illegally to another religious organisation, and for the priests and bishops currently facing prison in Ukraine simply for refusing to join another religious organisation.
Let's pray especially for peace in Ukraine, that Russia will return the territories it has annexed from Ukraine, and that the fraternal nations can live together in peace.
