A "nostalgic disease" mentioned in another thread refers to a romantic view of the past where Latin is emphasized and something like a chant is used, and this is seen as "tradition".
But for others, "tradition" also means what is old and part of a community, and these include hymns from the last two centuries and which use similar chant forms, but using archaic forms of vernacular languages.
Here's another example: a chant form that's based on a practice that's around four centuries old.
