Metropolitan Onufriy Consecrates Cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine consecrated an ambulance and a converted 4WD for the use of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also blessed Ukrainian soldiers with holy water.
After the consecration of the cars, Metropolitan Onufriy said: "I want to express gratitude to all those who donated money for the wonderful ambulances for our defenders, for our soldiers who are on the battlefield. It is our own military feat, our own military feat to protect us. May the Lord bless the people who use these machines to benefit our soldiers".
These words came from the mouth of the man that the Ukrainian media is convincing the world is a pro-Russian spy and influencer. The leader of the "Moscow Church in Ukraine", who we are told is a Putin supporter and is afraid of "Gundayev" (which is how the Ukrainian media refer to Patriarch Kirill) blesses cars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is more and more clear that the persecution of the UOC is being carried out not on the false basis that it is pro-Russian, but because the Ukrainian government wishes forcibly unite it with the OCU and also to have a scapegoat, an "internal enemy" within Ukraine that is supposedly perpetuating Russia's imperial ideal within the state borders of Ukraine. The attitude of the Ukrainian government towards the UOC is reminiscent of the Bolshevik statement that the Orthodox Church is the "only legal counter-revolutionary organisation in the Soviet Union". The government of Ukraine wants us to believe that the UOC is the "only legal pro-Russian organisation in Ukraine" and that the persecution of the UOC has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with its being pro-Russian.
All nonsense, of course. A man captive to Putin would hardly offer up prayers for the victory of the Ukrainian Army, bless Ukrainian soldiers, or bless equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After the supposedly pro-Russian Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa referred to the "special military operation" as a "genocide of the Ukrainian people", the supporters of the OCU said that Agafangel is merely a chameleon who changes as the state authorities change. Nothing the UOC can do or say will change the violent propaganda against it.
