In the western regions of Ukraine, Orthodox Christians are increasingly being forced into the underground. As churches are closed, house churches form, often in secret (recently police broke up an "illegal gathering" of Orthodox Christians at a small house in Ivano-Frankivsk). Recently, Ukrainian websites reported that a 90 year old lady in Rivne Oblast donated her own house to her local church community, because their parish had been confiscated by the Ukrainian government. Other sources state that Ukrainian believers often have to travel to Kyiv just to attend church, although given half the Orthodox churches in Kyiv are slated for closure, it is unclear how long that will be a possibility. Here is a picture of a Divine Liturgy celebrated at an underground church in Rivne Oblast.

It's quite clear the Catholic Church will be next in Ukraine, tragic as that is. Some in Ukraine have already called for it to be banned.
