Shameless self-promotion of what?
All the article tells us is that following changes in working patterns as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic more fathers are taking an active role in their child's homeschooling.

Like the article suggests, change in work schedules and jobs probably accounts for most of the changes regarding home schooling or work around the home.
Although my son went to public school, I was primarily responsible for help with homework.
As far as the increase in time they are suggesting fathers spend with family, again probably due to changes as a result of Covid.
I guess our family was lucky in that before she got pregnant with our son, my wife was already working for/with me at my office. So we spend pretty much 24/7 together. Our son never went to day care, he did go to mothers day out some, to get him time with kids his own age and away from our office. But aside from that, on days off from school, after school he was at our office with us until he was old enough to stay at home by himself.
There certainly has been a generational change in the amount of time fathers spend with their children. My father who was born and grew up during the depression, would complain to me about the amount of time I spent away from my office while my son was in Boy Scouts and I was the Scoutmaster. His generation went to work, to provide for the family and basically spent time with children in the evenings or on weekends, (usually involving chores around the house).
I would tell my dad, that I choose to spend time with my kid doing stuff. If my clients don't like it for some reason, they can find another accountant. None did, as work got completed when it was supposed to. Could I make more money working for someone else, and spending less time with my wife and child, sure, but it wasn't my priority. Others may differ.

“Nation of Homeschool Dads” would be a great album title.

Just couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a pot-shot at myself. Self-deprecating attempt at humo(u)r. It was a good article and the opportunity presented itself.

Reminds me of a recent article pointing out that most Americans can't identify Ukraine on a map, and similar happened in 2014. Other polls indicate that many also can't identify their own home state or various countries on a map, name the Vice President, provide basic knowledge about U.S. historical events like the American Revolution and the Civil War, and so on.
