The UK is closed. I'm sure it must be if this story makes the headlines on which is basically the UK's national broadcaster.
Dog bites man is hardly news, let alone a headline, especially when it happens overseas. If the man had been seriously injured or had died then it would be newsworthy. It's not newsworthy simply because the US president owns the dog. It certainly isn't a headline news item in a country outside the US. Therefore, I am drawn to the conclusion the UK has closed down and nothing newsworthy happens here.

The BBC has worried me as regards spelling, choice of articles and numerous other ways for some time now. They frequently misspell words and use poor grammar or miss out linking words in articles. I suspect an increased use of AI with limited human oversight is driving some of that. Once upon a time, their style was similar to Luke's who posts here. Now I feel increasingly as if they are shovelling pabulum down our throats.

We could do with more Larry the Cat news in USA. Larry is much more civilized than the Bidens’ constantly out-of-control, poorly trained dogs (this being the second one that bit people). It’s about time they sent that dog away. I really do not understand how, with an entire nation of dogs to choose from, they can’t select a breed or an individual dog that can behave in the White House.

They could buy some Bernese Mountain Dogs such as the Irish President Owns Larry has now served under five Prime Ministers. But he is getting on a bit as he is 16 and a half years old.

Here's Biden meeting one of the dogs: www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2D-ELNd9TwThe dog had probably heard about Biden's attempts to portray himself as more Irish than the Irish. I found all of that awfully over the top although some people seemed to lap it up.

Darn! I had my bags packed and was just about ready to head out the door for a visit. Go tell my 12th cousin HM The King to open the place back up. (No joke, we really are distantly related, through our common ancestor and early Franco-American colonist Nicolas Martiau, down through the Bowes-Lyon family. George Washington is my 4th cousin, 8 times removed, through the same ancestor.)

I no longer trust the BBC. It has a clear anti-Christian bias. It also has a massive bias on issues to do with Russia / Ukraine, the Middle East, Armenia, and other parts of the world. It is obviously pushing an agenda. I now look at a variety of sources to get my news. I look at both conservative and progressive sources from multiple countries - the BBC, The Guardian, Deutsche Welle, Fars News, Russia Today, Komsomol Truth (the Russian and Ukrainian editions are very interesting though completely different), and of course various Catholic (and sometimes Orthodox) publications. I try to get a broad spectrum of opinions and work out which ones I agree with based on the facts presented before me. Part of the reason I look at publications such as Russia Today is to try to understand better what the Russian government is thinking, not because I agree with much of it. I like to look through both lenses even where I lean strongly towards one of the two.

I suspect we could all trace our ancestors back to some monarch. I can claim closer relationship to living royalty. I have an aunt who is a princess.
You may be a 12th cousin to King Charles. I somehow can't see him inviting you round for a brew and a natter.
