It's an absolute disgrace that this regime is still supported by the West. Lord have mercy on us.

Archbishop Welby sounded justly angry in his statements about this whole disaster.I am glad to see that the majority of Irish people are absolutely opposed to the use of collective punishment as a tactic.

There are questions of course about exactly the hospital was destroyed. There are no questions that Israel's use of collective punishment is a grave evil. Engaging in it means Israel effectively acts as a recruiting sergeant for Hamas. The British use of internment and trials without juries in Ireland did more to further recruitment for the IRA than groups like Sinn Fein could have ever have done and the same is occurring here. A generation will grow up seeing Israel as their oppressor and hate them in the same way as did working-class kids in Derry and other parts of the north of Ireland with regard to Britain. It's no surprise that the turnout supporting the Palestinians in Ireland has been HUGE. We've had at least one prominent politican arguing the Israeli ambassador should be expelled from Ireland as a war criminal. I don't support that point of view and I have very little sympathy for Hamas who push a rhetoric of holocaust denial many people outside of Israel and Palestine are not familiar with but the hardline administration in Israel bears some responsibility for creating this climate.

Truth really is the first casualty of war and with Biden now saying it was "friendly fire" and with "real journalists" like the New York Times and the BBC scrambling to extricate themselves from their earlier pronouncements-having fired up countless people around the world-I think it wise to refrain from pronouncing anything on this until a proper examination of the circumstances can be carried out.

I distrust all media equally so I'm inclined to just say War is Hell and leave it at that.
It is inevitable that there will be massive civilian casualties the way this is going, regardless of how they are caused, and further that Hamas doesn't care, maybe even plans to use the death of innocent and peaceful Muslims under their governance as a political prop to curry favor.
