www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/house-speaker-vote-10-25-23/index.htmlThis thought came to me about five minutes after I heard the news today. Nobody else seems to be catching fire, and as for Trump, no more need be said. Remember that nobody had ever heard of Barack Obama either, and look what happened. As to his bland, youthful, bespectacled appearance, I can hear my father saying "Mister Peepers". (You would either have to be of a certain age, or have parents of a certain age, to get that reference.)

Yay, now we have a speaker who is an election denier, and worked to subvert the Constitutional process of the last election. Yippie.
Johnson has a lot of learning to do in the next few days/weeks as he has no clue what the speaker's job entails.
Maybe, just maybe he can get the chaos party back into some semblance of order and actual governing. I am not holding my breath though.

If I had ever heard of him before today --- and I honestly don't recall --- it went in one ear and out the other.
A near-total unknown outside of his district, and then out of the clear blue sky, he becomes Speaker of the House, second in the line of succession to the presidency. "The man who fell to earth", indeed.

I personally hope that Mr T.rump will indeed take Tucker Carlson as his running mate, as he suggested he might and that the Republican presidential ticket will comprise T.rump and Carlson.
It is possible that if that happens, then Tucker will eventually succeed Trump as the main figure in the Republican Party. I cannot imagine a better outcome.
