I've noted we have a lot of anti-Semitic ill will in the area of London I live in and close by. This women having a rant is someone I have encountered myself in real life. I had to ask her to quit this nonsense in my previous workplace where she started a similar rant and was abusing Jewish customers. I suddenly became Jewish for her when I told her I'd call the police if she didn't leave. I see at least one incident like that in this area every day if I travel through it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qr4OQepcNHY

More fool for engaging with her. The best way of dealing with bigoted individuals like her is to completely ignore them. That's the best thing you can do and the worst for them. They're happy when someone will listen to their diatribe. She's proof of her own lack of intelligence but fails to see it. Now someone has given her a wider outlet by posting her on YouTube. Much better to ignore such people. I've always elected to walk past the 'village idiot'.

Agreed, best to walk on. Unfortunately, this woman enters stores shouting this stuff in Stamford Hill. She is vile and once threatened to put Jewish kids in the in-store oven we used for baking and make them into cookies. She nearly got killed over that as she said it to an elderly man shopping with his little granddaughter and I made it plain to her that the only reason I was stepping in was because it was in my workplace and that on the street I'm not sure if I would have stepped in or not. I was seriously angry as I knew the little girl and her granddad for several years and they always stopped to chat to me and the little girl would show me her paintings and teddies that granddad had bought. There are a few regulars like this in that area, some of whom should be sectioned in my opinion.

Her cousin on the other side is the lady in NYC who ranted about Palestinians and threw hot coffee at some guy with India ancestry who was at a playground with his son. He had a Palestinian scarf on and I'm editing this as he apparently did know the meaning and does support Palestine, but one could be wearing that without even realizing what it was as you can buy them off street vendors or cheap in shops there assuming it's a fashion item. Pretty sure I have a couple somewhere that I bought because they looked pretty. I'd be afraid to wear them now. There are just angry crazy people on all sides of everything it seems.

This woman is a local bully and has been cautioned and had suspended sentences before. That fact she is disabled and getting on a bit means the court is hesitant to lock her up. However, it will come to that eventually I think. My wife would just ignore her but I have some extended family who would go for her physically if she made those remarks. Though that's not the best way to react.

Perhaps people should call the police. I'm sure what's she's doing would be classed as a hate crime.
We see a lot of anti-semitism here and I think that's because we have such a large Jewish community. I think if there was no one to target it would be less common here.
We're all human beings with problems to deal with in our lives. Why people can't just get on beggars belief. In fact, it frustrates me so much were it phsyiologically possible I'd have steam coming out of my ears.

I called the police on the occasion mentioned. Whilst waiting for the police I received a massive barrage of abuse. I told her she could simply leave and I'd settle for barring her from the store and I'd phone the police and say she had left. I got a massive blast of, 'You can't effing bar me from a public effing place you Jewish ****.' The police did witness me make out a barring order when they arrived and they noted to me privately they felt she should be sectioned but that this can be difficult to start up as a process at times.

[Tried adding an image but homeschooldad the function isn't working.] Let me take a look at it. Adding images on this forum is kind of tricky. If you could send me a URL to the image you're trying to add, I'll see if I can do that. Again, it's kind of tricky.

Ok, now I've got to look it up again. Hope I remember. There will now be a short intermission. As I was saying earlier ... Found it, here it is:
Having just pasted it into this message I'm not surprised there may have been an issue with it. I remember I did save the image to my PC but CCS only seems to allow you to paste a URL for an image. I can't see how to upload it from my pC.

These sorts of forums are fiddly to paste images on. They are somewhat 'old school.'

Yes, they are just a bit. Anyway, the moment has passed and not much point in putting the image anywhere now.

I found this article another interesting illustration of how those representing/ siding with the oppressed and impoverished PoC in USA are often either completely blind to or don't care about how they're simultaneously endorsing anti-semitism (and often endorsing violence as well). I was aware of this Bronx Defenders legal defense organization for years, and can personally attest that while it has a great mission on paper and probably has at least some good people working there, it also attracts some real lulus who are into online harassment and heaven only knows what else...seriously messed-up individuals. It might be good for it to just go away now. web.archive.org/web/20231228202648/https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/14/nyregion/bronx-defenders-israel-gaza.html

I'm pro-ceasefire but I'm concerned about some of the er modes of communication on London's street with Jewish people at this point. As I noted earlier in this chat I'm deliberately avoiding mentioning this situation at all in seminars or presentations at university as the tensions are very real. We have a lecture with a bloke booked after Christmas where he is doing a long lecture on tensions in the Middle-East and the Colonial roots of some of those. I am expecting some great silliness at this lecture.

I am definitely pro-ceasefire. What Hamas did on 7th October 2023 is despicable and horrific. Israel's response is even worse. Thousands of innocent people are dying. Today, an Israeli minister says let the Jews have Gaza. I suspect this is what Netanyahu and his ilk want. They don't want to destroy Hamas they want to expand Israel. This war will resolve nothing. It is going to increase resentment against Israel among Arabs/Palestinians/Muslims. Israel is creating future problems for itself. I am convinced beyond doubt that the parties involved directly do not want peace.
I am sure that any lecture/seminar/etc. on this or any closely-related topic in a university or other institution is going to cause a great deal of "silliness". I think keeping one's own counsel is the wisest thing to do.
