rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2023/12/fidelis-supplicans-and-upcoming.htmlI hold out hope that this has alienated the African bishops enough, that they won't wish to see this kind of thing continue into another pontificate. There are 29 African cardinals, and every vote counts. They don't go for this same-sex business. And Africa is often touted as "the future of the Church", a part of the Church to which we should look for inspiration. Am I right?

Cardinal Sarah for Pope
He'd probably make everybody say the OF ad orientem, but at least the TLM contingent would get their TLMs back.

I just wonder how Rome is going to spin this away, African prelates rebelling and whatnot. Spiritually constipated, Eurocentric crypto-schismatics who insist upon hearing Mass in a dead language, that's one thing. The crown jewel of the modern Church, with huge Mass attendance percentages and docility to Vatican II, that's quite another.

If I'm mistaken, homosexuality is considered a crime in some countries. The African bishops aren't resisting FS because homosexual acts and manifestations are illegal in some of their countries. They have other reasons. Put another way, they're not saying "if homosex and public homosexual acting-out were legal, we'd be front and center in favor of FS". Not hardly.
