Wouldn't that be more apostasy than heresy? Don't get me wrong, heresy is bad, but apostasy is worse.

adamcsc Apostasy is indeed worse. It's bad enough to have no faith. How much worse to have the fullness of Truth and then reject it for any reason?

The twenty-four elders fall down before the One seated on the throne, and they worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things; by Your will they exist, and came to be.”
Rev 4:11 & of course there's Gen 1:1

Well keep something in mind. It's better to be a good atheist than a bad Christian.
The atheist is actually still searching for God and we pray that one day he/she'll find God
Whereas, the bad Christian found God and became Christian in religious identity only. They've ended up dragging Jesus name through the mud with them. In all, they've driven more people away from Christ than to Him.
