I usually read a book on acts..I thought to pray looking at my prayer garden until it warms up and then go into it 🌼
I also will try and walk daily with my puppy praying stations when it stops being frigid and snowy❄️❄️ both my cats died last year. So I got my ferocious beast --yorkie.
I usually am in a comfy chair 💺 with a candle.

Getting very annoyed by a certain poster that wants to make everything political. Sorry, just blowing off steam. Thanks for asking, God bless. Who was it that said "don't say that person annoys me, that person sanctifies me"? Geez, I must be growing holier by the second! Wish I felt it.

So no one is doing anything? Fasting. Less than 200 calories per day. Been going since ash Wednesday. I have tremendous fat reserves that are sustaining me. Projections say I will be down nearly 70 pounds by Easter. I will be slightly under weight, and will start eating slowly again to prevent weight coming back.

Does anyone know if there is a dispensation to the meat abstention this Friday due to the St Joseph solemnity? I'm in the US. Is this something that would be determined on a diocesan basis? I contacted my diocese and my parish but got no reply. Thanks

Usually we have a St. Joseph altar with breads and cannolis etc. Unless your bishop said otherwise, skip the meat. And eat once a day.
There will be plenty of shrimp and fillets on our altar, along with St.Joseph cream puffs.
But 1 time a day..I don't know what the rules of your diocese is. I interment fast.

Finished.
And I have many telling me to keep going.
Started strength training a few weeks ago to go with the fasting.
Suddenly the lost inches are turning into muscles.

Congratulations vz71!! That's an awesome accomplishment to have stuck with your fasting through out Lent. But surely 200 calories daily was a typo. I thought that 1200 calories would be restrictive enough. At 200 calories daily your body would burn up those fat reserves you mentioned and put you into ketosis. Hard on the renal system too. How did you do it if you don't mind me asking? I restricted myself to just two meals a day roughly 12 hours apart and that was difficult. Lots of water helped to bridge those hours. This Lent I wanted to try and pray the Hours so when I couldn't eat, I fed on the Liturgies instead. That devotion I intend to continue. Happy Easter!

You stop eating at 6 then go to bed as usual. So say you go to bed 10pm that's 4 hours Then you sleep 8 .Then don't eat for 4 more.
You want to plan an 8 hour window to eat.
