Are you a cat person, or a dog person? Or something weird like a hamster person? Personally, I am a dog person. But I married a cat person so I was obliged to undergo a species affinity change operation! (the procedure went something like this: if you don't let us get a cat, I will stop baking my World Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies). Needless to say I complied and now I profess (somewhat reluctantly) my allegiance to cats... However I lead a double-life, I can sometimes be seen petting and playing with the neighbour's dog! I pray I never get caught... my life would fall apart if those World Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies were to leave me... Much to my dismay, all my children have grown up to be cat people... Some. Times. I. Feel. So.... ALONE!

I've always had both cats & dogs. There was a time I have 5 dogs & 3 cats at the same time (have a big back yard). I've also had birds, fish, hamsters & turtles. I love all animals, that goes along with being Franciscan. I would not know what it would be like to live in a house without an animal. Right now I'm down to only 1 cat & 1 dog, both rescue.

We have 2 cats. A white one and a black one. Needless to day, my clothing options are limited.
I am a cat person because I can't dedicate time to walking a dog, training and things like that.
I like smaller dogs too, like a Yorkshire terrier. But 2 cats are enough for now.

I voted "other" as I am the family pet. At least it seems that way.
Woof, woof.

I don't need a pet - I've got young children. (Actually, I'm in the camp of, "I'll get a pet if it's a useful pet." When the kids are older I might be interested in an animal for companionship only, but I just can't see that in my life right now.)

"Other", because we have a menagerie of stuffed animals at home. Q Junior's personal pet is Winnie-the-Pooh, which makes sense considering that we called him Christopher.

Naturally, we've had Irish setters. Joe favors Border Collies. but...w.e have 4 cats. 2 indoors, 2 on the roof. Three black, one black and white. Interestingly, the black and white is NOT deaf, as most of them tend to be. She's adorable.
Names: Scarlett (when we adopted her, she had a scar) Chanel (because we're just that fashionable, LOL) Shadow (she comes off the roof to follow us around the house) Binx. No clue. I hate the name. Rebecca gave her the name, but I would have gone with Dolce & Gabanna, LOL Binx is a wandered and scared of everything and everyone.
Shadow and Binx were left by their mother on our porch. She had 4 kittens in our chimney, and left with another black and a beautiful silver tabby. We think the silver lives now across the street. He came over and got into a huge fight with Shadow. Poor thing took a long time to be consoled. We
It's kind of like Pavlov's dog though around here. When we pull up at the end of the day and I use to car clicker to lock the car, they come running up over the roof. It's their dinner bell! Apparently I'm the only they think knows how to slay that dry cat food monster.
We're very attached to all of them. Scarlett's very attached to me and sits on the corner of my piano daily until I get home. Chanel is a talker. She'll attempt to carry on a conversation if you say anything to her, she meows back.

I know this is an old post but I was wondering about your inside cats. We have a kitten which was intended to be an inside cat but she has been so desperate to get outside since we got her at 8 weeks old. She's now 7 months and recently spayed and we've just given up and let her outside. We lock her in at night. But I was wondering do your inside cats grow used to being inside or do they still try and get out. This kitten might just be a bit of a monkey personality. We have to keep all our important papers of any sort locked up because she rips them to shreds otherwise.

I've had inside cats. Both fixed. One would try and sneak out all the time. We did not want ticks and things in the house.. sadly both my cats passed on last year.
Now I have a yorkie who is like a cat. He's neutered but he too wants to sneak out.
