Catholic World Report provides the following: www.catholicworldreport.com/2021/08/06/britney-spears-says-she-is-catholic-now-in-social-media-post/Spears said, “ … I just got back from mass … I’m Catholic now … let us pray 🙏🏼 !!!” The article says she was raised Baptist but her mother, sister and a couple nieces are practicing Catholics. I posted this in the Family and Parenting section because Spears is in conflict with her father about various matters, including an IUD she is being forced to wear! She thinks she's ready to be a wife and mother.

She has always identified as Catholic. I didn't know that. For some reason, I always thought she was Baptist or something. Don't know where I got that.
Glad to hear it. Let us pray for this beautiful, talented woman who has had such a dramatic, tragic life.
And if it was Mel Gibson who occasioned her conversion/reversion/whatever, well, "God writes straight with crooked lines". (I know a lot about that.)

Hmmmmm. I don't think she's a good example.

Hmmmmm. I don't think she's a good example. Probably not the best, but she, like anyone else, can either be, moving forward, a great saint, a great sinner, or something in between.
That's the key here --- "moving forward".
Just like any of us do after going to confession.
I have to think that, with the dross of sin burned away --- dross we all have --- she is fundamentally a good, decent person. She's made mistakes, she has had issues. Haven't we all?

Still not an example for my kids , sorry. No, probably not. She needs time to work on herself, and to cooperate with the grace of God. I can say as much about myself.

Of course not everyone can be stunningly perfect as I. *flicks Fabio like long golden hair* as the breeze catches it. (I’m bald) A blinding glint of light reflects off my stunning white teeth as a chorus of angels sing of my awesomeness! (Dentures) Yeah, I’m full’of’it today. My dross burning off will look like the sun viewed from “Row 1, seat K”. Better put the goggles on, and get the sunblock 10,000! Dominus vobiscum

As my mother has always said you need to look what they did to the last perfect person.

If you cannot ⁁ find Christ in the beggar at the door you will not find him in the chalice. I like this quote from this Doctor of the Church but I'm not sure it's in the same class as my mother's off-the-cuff irreverent observation.
