13 Tuesdays of Prayer
Honoring St. Anthony of Padua
St. Anthony of Padua died on June 13, 1231 and he was buried on the following Tuesday. On that Tuesday, powerful miracles began to be granted for those who called on his heavenly intercession. As a result, Tuesday Devotions to St. Anthony became very popular; specifically 13 Tuesdays as a special recognition of the date on which he died. Enjoy!
I am praying this for everyone on these boards. Feel free to add your own personal intentions and join us in prayer!
OPENING PRAYER
Unfailing prayer to St. Anthony:
Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of saints, your love for God and charity for all God’s creatures made you worthy when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles followed your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or need.
Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me this request ….
(Mention your petition)
The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so, you are the Saint of Miracles!
O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was always full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Holy Infant Jesus, who loved to be held in your arms, and the gratitude of my heart will always be yours. AMEN.
DAY 1
Personal Good Health
O Holy St. Anthony, with great compassion you looked after the needs of others, especially the sick and the aged. I implore your heavenly care to watchover me, protect me from all harm, and shield me from every evil. Keep me safe from all serious illness and disease, especially …..
(Here mention your request)
……so that I may serve God faithfully each day. Help me to bear life’s burdens with trust and confidence in God’s loving plan for my life. Amen.
