Please pray that I get a fa vorable outcome.. My husband took b early retirement to care for me. Thank y ou I shall indeed pray. I put in for Social Security beginning in November, and without getting into details, let's just say that the outcome was far better than I expected. Divine Providence at work once again.

I'll pray for you. I know what's it like waiting to hear back from them.

I'll pray for you. I know what's it like waiting to hear back from them. In my case, it really wasn't bad at all. The waiting time was very reasonable, 2-3 weeks. The worst part was playing "telephone tag", but that is just part of the warp and woof of American life these days. Relatively few people answer their own phone in real time anymore. Doing outbound calls only, actually allows them to calibrate their workload, something that would have been nice in my working days when I was expected to drop whatever I was working on, and answer random calls on command.

katy777 I will keep you in my prayers for a successful outcome with getting the disability benefits from Social Security. Although the prayer below is petitioning St. Rita, I don't think that your request is going to be an impossible one. From what you have been through, have explained on the forum and what you currently deal with physically, I believe your case will be granted an approval. I base this on my experience as an office nurse and seeing patients who have asked to be given disability for various reasons. Your condition is a valid reason. Be sure that your case is well documented. I was asked once to testify at a Social Security disability hearing but because this person had all of her medical facts in order my testimony wasn't even needed. She was granted the disability benefits without any further deliberations. But she did hire a disability lawyer to help with her case. Keep us informed about your progress with Social Security. It can be a frustrating experience to deal with SS but will be rewarding in the long term. Intercessory Prayer to St. Rita O powerful St. Rita, rightly called Saint of the Impossible, I come to you with confidence in my great need. You know well my trials, for you yourself were many times burdened in this life. Come to my help, speak for me, pray with me, intercede on my behalf before the Father. I know that God has a most generous heart and that he is a most loving Father. Join your prayers to mine and obtain for me the favor that I desire (grant eligibility for SS disability benefits) You who were so very pleasing to God on earth and are so much more so now in heaven, I promise to use this favor, when granted, to better my life, to proclaim God's mercy, and to make you more widely known and loved. Amen.

I planed to remind you about this before retirement age or 65 yo. You qualify and the SSA will help a lump sump of SSID from the date you file the claim. You can take early retirement at age 62 to get little more benefits. I would recommend to buy extra disability insurance after 5 years or when the insurance companies are willing to cover for you. Please dont hesitate to ask any question in private msg.
May the Lord bless you and the family.

Shortly after the Big C unexpectedly retired me, I found myself unemployed at a 40% loss of income and health insurance. DW's health insurance stood in the gap (whew!). However, I noted on one of my social security statements that "If you are disabled, you would receive" such and such an amount. Having had non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma twice and being then in treatment, the thought struck me that I might be disabled. So, I applied online. When you check some serious health issue as the reason for application, they expedite the process. Relapsed cancer in current therapy is apparently considered serious by Social Security. The upshot is that I was approved reasonably quickly and the SSD check perfectly made up the loss of pay and I qualified for Medicare two years later.
Katy, if they reject your claim, there are law offices at the ready (usually across the street from the SS office!) who can argue and/or litigate your case for you. It is at least worth an inquiry.
