Hi there, this is Professor Q, who in a past life was known as RPRPsych. ^_^
As you can see from my avatar, starting this forum has been a fountain of youth for me.

Keeping my old username, too. It suits me. Catholic convert (10 years this Easter!) Former English teacher, now SAHM to three boys, though that number may creep up sooner or later. Or maybe buck the trend and have a girl. I love saving money, English literature, and long walks on the beach. Sometimes runs if I can find my shoes.

I was more of a lurker than poster at That Other Place...I'm a husband of 28+ years, father of six children (four living), a balding, 50-something mid-level manager at my job, and a struggling member of the Church Militant.

Well hello all, I am also the same oralabora from over "there". Married father of 3 adult boys, retired IT guy and before that industrial chemist. When the industry I was in (paper) started to circle the drain, I invoked my half-a-minor in computer science and switched to health care IT. My wife is a family doctor (married 28 yrs last August), so it was a good fit career-wise! I am a Benedictine oblate of the only Benedictine abbey of men in Eastern Canada, and am bilingual French/English thanks to my mixed heritage parents. I too was a revert (1997). I became an oblate in 2003.

We're doing bios? Cool. My people came with Cortez up through So.America and Mexico to the American Southwest centuries ago with Franciscan Friars form Spain seeking silver mines. My one of my ancestors was the first acting Governor of New Mexico when it was still a territory Juan Buatista Vigil y Alarid. The American choice for Governor challenged him to a fight in the streets of Taos New Mexico, (beat the crap out of him) and he fled back to Mexico, eventually starting a series of schools for poor Mexican children in El Paso Fast forward, growing up in Albuquerque, dad worked for the Fed, commuting to Santa FE daily, and mama stayed home with three daughters. I'm the youngest. Degrees in Music and Catholic Theology, many low paying unsatisfying jobs, including working at the Coca Cola headquarters in Atlanta. Eventually got married, had two daughters, a husband who committed suicide and now happily remarried to a native Irishman. Worked as a Music Director in a parish for 16 years, a DRE in a Catholic school (don't ask) for 10, and now a DRE, LEM & YM at a parish. Trying to decide if I should leave this job and t=return to my first love, music. Hoping to make the right decision. Could use an Ave or too, please. Thanks.
