The crowds were absolutely huge at points along the funeral procession route. Sinead has had a Muslim funeral, this means she can't be buried with Christians so she is likely to be buried in the only Muslim cemetery in Dublin which is a section of Newcastle Cemetery reserved for Muslims. I will post up the footage when RTE tidies it up and post another link as anyone in America interested may be unable to watch RTE. Here is a brief report from Sky News showing the hearse and the camper van with a sound system installed the preceded it. The private memorial service for her was attended by the Taisoeach Leo Varadkar and Uachtarán na hÉireann (President of Ireland) Michael D. Higgins. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdrk0GQrfV4

I see she was buried in an historic Catholic cemetery. That’s fitting I guess given that the Church would still consider her a Catholic and she has a lot of illustrious company there.
I see Geldof was actually invited to the small family gathering. Was he a good friend of Sinead? I wasn’t aware and was a bit surprised as many in music don’t seem to like him, although I always respected him (much more than I do some others like Bono.

I find Bono annoying. Sinead once joked that a good reason to stay alive was so he wouldn't be at her funeral. Sadly, he was. Geldof is an odd one, his reputation seems to jump up and down. Yes, she was buried in Dean's Grange ultimately. That cemetery is divided into Catholic and Protestant sections. Her burial there has caused rows as some Muslims in Ireland are arguing she was not buried as a Muslim. Some heated exchanges have broken out over the whole thing. There are people from all over the world there. If Sinead fancies jamming with someone from the West Indies Mona Baptiste is buried there as well. You could hear her records here in London being played by the older people from Trinidad and the West Indies when I was growing up. Although the kids in the East End today sadly wouldn't be able to name her.
