I know that it does not mean that other languages are not spoken. I did not write that it does. You have taken one adjective and made it the focus of what I wrote, which it was not. You have done your favourite trick of twisting the meaning in an attempt to divert the discussion from what it was about. I cannot be bothered to play that silly game. Consequently, I shall no longer engage in discussions with you.
It's not just one adjective. Here's what you wrote:
Greek still prevailed in the East. I don't think people we no longer
speaking the languages spoken by Jesus and the Apostles. Those
languages, e.g. Aramaic, Hebrew, are still spoken.

That doesn't mean that Latin didn't dominate.
Check what I shared about first and second languages.
Remember Clavell's Shogun? The Englishman Blackthorne could only communicate with Toranaga through Lady Mariko because she was raised a Catholic and learned Latin, while Blackthorne was from a well-off and educated family and thus learned the classics in school. That's what makes a language dominant; it didn't mean that people no longer spoke Japanese or English.
For current circumstances,
The largest group for one's first language is Mandarin Chinese but the largest one's second language is English. For L1 and L2 combined, the largest group is English and Mandarin Chinese a close second.
In addition, the second place for L1 is not English but Spanish, and for L2 not Mandarin Chinese but Arabic.
