How does Fascism conflict with Catholic faith and morals?

lol totally ridiculous. Saints were martyred under Hitler and Mussolini, the Church herself was forced into silence about their regimes (Although they still got documents out such as Mit brennender Sorge) and Catholic Schools were completely taken over by the state to indoctrinate the youth. Not similar to the Monarchy's of old at all, neither did the Pope crown these guys nor was the Church and the teachings of Christ the highest authority which kings submitted to.

The fascists such as Mussolini and Hitler were more akin to the Roman Empire under those such as Nero and Diocletian, only problem was they had to deal with a large Christian population so it couldn't be persecuted outright like Nero and Diocletian, which is why they pretended to play nice, but in reality didn't at all.

These Fascists did not have rulers like Constantine the Great or Charlemagne as their role models, if so they would have revived the Christian symbolism as part of their military standards like Constantine the Great did, but they did not, instead it was the Swastika and other secular pagan stuff, not a Chi Rho or the French Fleur-de-lis etc.

They more idolized and represented Pagan Rome, not the Christian Monarchs.

I can't think of a single person (who wasn't a Pope) who exalted the Papacy and raised the Papal banner higher in the 20th Century than Benito Mussolini.

Without Benito Mussolini it is almost certain Spain would have fallen to Communism and possibly Italy as well. Without Mussolini rising to power, Independent Vatican City State would not even exist today.

Matthew, do you know if Mussolini reverted to Catholicism towards the end of his life, or was he just a secular figure who nonetheless saw the value in Catholicism?

Don't get me wrong, Mussolini has a lot that his sufferings in purgatory and the blood of Christ must atone for, and he wasn't the meek and humble innocent man he idolized (Saint Francis of Assisi) and got the Pope to make patron Saint of Italy.

My point is, no extremely evil person without redeemable qualities and the grace of God operating in them is going to accomplish some of what Mussolini did.

I don't see how Mussolini committed crimes any more atrocious than Joshua, Moses, King David, or some of the leaders and Prophets in Scripture who were anointed by God.

Joshua and Moses were far more mean than Mussolini, annihilating entire cities of pregnant women and babies even, or Moses and the Angel of death participating in the killing of the first born of Egypt.

Then King David had his right hand man killed to get away with getting his wife pregnant (adultery).

Why is it Mussolini is despised as a war criminal (though he was found innocent of war crimes), but Moses, Joshua, and King David held in such high esteem when what they did was just as, and easily arguably more ugly than anything Mussolini did that I know of.

I think human nature, especially when politics is involved is simply ugly , fragile, and easily corrupted.

Charlemagne is considered a hero still by the European Union and many Catholics, yet Charlemagne committed worse crimes than Benito Mussolini per capita with the percentage of people he conquered, opressed, killed, or forced to convert to Christianity.

I pray for all the dead, and have prayed for even Joseph Stalin and Hitler who are very terrible figures in history, but I wouldn't want anyone to go to hell forever.

People who commit crimes like that are very hurting joyless people who I wouldn't want to be in agony forever.

The difference between Mussolini and Hitler and Stalin and Pol Pot type figures is Benito Mussolini had a big heart and many redeemable qualities. He just had his Demons is all.

I believe in Trump and Benito Mussolini's ideas of nationalism.  It is patriotic love for one's country and veneration of the heroes who contributed to increasing the greatness of the country.  Benito Mussolini taught Italians to be proud to be Italian and cling to the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and traditions of those who served night and day to make Italy and the Roman Catholic Church great.

Fascism in it's intrinsic nature is a defense of all Religions, a defense of God as he is understood even in the most primitive forms, but first and foremost the Doctrine of Fascism calls for Italians to never be indifferent to the Religion of Italy, the Roman Catholic Church, and to defend her with all one's being against the attacks of bolshiveks, communists, and secularists who seek to destroy loyalty to her.

Benito Mussolini did not believe all Religions are equal , but wanted all Religions to be united in the fight against secularism.   In it's essence and intrinsic nature, Fascism is peaceful and calls upon people to "Love their neighbor" with the exception of the call to defend God as secularists seek to destroy and uproot all devotion to him.

If you study the Doctrine of Fascism, it is Spiritual government to the core, and says "The life of a Fascist is religious and austere...only death can achieve for the soul true perfection when it has reached a purely Spiritual state."

Benito Mussolini believed that his life on earth was not his home and that his destiny was to do great things after his death.  He decorated the graves of Italy's heroes and prayed to them.  I consider that to be a true form of Nationalism.this

Benito refused Catholic Dictator Francisco Franco's request to get on a Spanish plane and be taken to Fascist Spain to live the rest of his years as a hero who saved Spain from Communism and atheism in the Spanish Civil War.  Benito said, "I will go only if you first fly all Fascists to Spain.  I have destiny here.  I have blood on my hands for my alliance with Hitler and shall pay dearly for it."  

Rachel, Benito's wife kept urging him to go to Spain, and in the face of certain death, his response was always, "I shall stay here and finish my destiny."

What he was talking about was that he had destiny to be a Heavenly being who continues to influence world affairs.  On the day of his death Benito promised he would return to rule a nation in need of a leader and all would feel his arm.

Those are only the words of an extremely Spiritual man with unflinching confidence in God.  People that witnessed Benito's execution said that he looked heartbroken but said there was never the slightest indication he had any fear whatsoever.  His last words when the guns pointed at him was "Aim for the heart!"

I can't help but admire the man and pray for his soul that he would be a great Saint.

By the grace of God he took over a first world Democracy without a high school Diploma, was the youngest Prime minister in Italian history, dismantled Democracy and replaced it with his own invention, created economic miracles in multiple countries, saved Spain from atheism and propped up a Catholic Monarchy and Catholic Theocracy in Spain under Fascist Dictator Francisco Franco (Mussolini's greatest pupil.  It was a regime that would last until 1976 as a crucial alli of America during the cold war.

Mussolini inspired Fascist Dictator Augusto Pinochet (A Roman Catholic defender of the faith) to save Chile from Marxism and arguably save all of South America from falling to Marxism (Which was backed by the Soviet Union).

Benito Mussolini was shot in the face and survived five assasination attempts and a sixth if you count the fact that a woman claimed to have poisoned him and it had no affect on him.  This made the Italian people think Benito was immortal.

People described the death of Benito as a "Calvary".  He was publically executed , hung upside down, used as target practice, spit on, stoned, beaten, and people mocked him with similar words that Christ was mocked when people shouted, "You who would rebuild the Temple"....People shouted at Mussolini "You who would revive the Roman Empire, look at you now".

Now Mussolini action figures are sold even at stores like Wal Mart, his face is appearing on wine bottles in Italy, Mussolini calendars are sold, Fascist items that used to be illegal are now sold in Italy, the place of Mussolini's birth and his tomb receive hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.  Priests visit Mussolini's tomb and pray Rosaries.

There is call for a Fascist Museum at the place of Il Duce's birth.  Vladimir Putin is called Russia's Mussolini.  Victor Orban of Hungary is called Hungary's Mussolini.  Papa Smurf was called "America's Mussolini".  There are signs that Mussolini is resurrecting and being faithful to his promise to return.

There are new books being written about Mussolini, TV shows about him, comedies, a movie about him returning.  Mussolini has several descendants who are active speakers who influence European politics.

Benito Mussolini originally was a miracle worker in multiple ways.  You can't take over a first world Democracy without a high school diploma or qualifications, and get control of the government, police, and military , without firing a shot, as the youngest prime minister in Italian history, then resurrect the Roman Empire and become Caesar, and a slave abolitionist like Abraham Lincoln, without a miracle.

He created jobs, dropped unemployment to practically one percent after his conquest of Ethiopia (where he abolished barbaric slavery) which officially  resurrected the Roman Empire and made him a 20th century Caesar.

He had youth groups where children were taught to be real men and real women.  Children fired guns and there were no school shootings.  Mussolini kept families together, voiced his disapproval of contraceptives, closed down night clubs and places of immorality, paid women who couldn't afford unwanted pregnancies, and awarded women who had big families, often times with a personal visit from the Duce himself if they had 13 children or more, and the Duce strongly discouraged divorce.

Mussolini revived Catholicism at a time where secularists were getting Italians to despise religion as superstitious and unenlightened.  Mussolini gave all the money he made as Prime minister to the Catholic Church in reparation for the Papal States that the Italian Government stole from the Pope and the Papal soldiers that the Italian government killed in the process of stealing that land.  He lived entirely off of the newspaper that he had prior to his rise to po wer.  The Duce also defiantly gave some of that land back to the Papacy with the Lateran treaty.

Mussolini defiantly brought prayer and crucifixes back to public schools at a time Italians were heavily influenced by the errors of Russia and secularism.  Italians were getting ashamed of being Italian which is what leftists like to do to people.  They want people to be ashamed of their country , so as to start a red revolution.  Mussolini's Fascist Nationalism taught Italians to do the opposite and cling to their traditions and be proud of their Italian history, heritage, Religion, and traditions.

This is why the communists killed Benito in cold blood without a trial and hung him upside down all day mutilating him like a bunch of savages.  The allies tried to find Benito guilty of war crimes and he was innocent.  Germans and Japanese were given trials before they were executed.

  Mussolini was innocent and killed in cold blood without trial primarily because Communists hated his defense of the Catholic Church.  No one upset Communist plans and did more to uproot the errors of leftists, communists, Soviets, and Socialists , than Dictator Benito Mussolini, so his demise was arguably worse than any other leader of World war 2.  He was buried in an unmarked shallow grave that communists continued to urinate on and desecrate and howl their hatred.

Fascists eventually dug up the corpse of Mussolini because they couldn't take the abuse any longer, and he was hid in a box in a Franciscan Friary.  The Franciscans prayed for his soul daily and celebrated mass for the repose of his soul.  It wasn't until 12 years after his death that he was finally given a Catholic burial.

The people that urinated on the Duce, stole his brains out of his blown apart skull, spit on him, used him as target practice, and acted like a bunch of savages , did everything they could to demonize the man and destroy all evidence of any of the good that he accomplished during his nearly 23 years in power.

All kinds of false quotes are attributed to Benito that make him look stupid.  When you actually read the Doctrine of Fascism or books written by Benito, he is intelligent and eloquent.  When you read the writings of Rachel Mussolini , who knew him since she was 7 and doesn't whitewash his mistakes and faults, you will know the truth about Benito and Fascism.

Benito Mussolini was one of the greatest Catholic leaders and promoters of Catholicism in the history of the Catholic Church before 1939.  If Hitler died of a heart attack before his invasion of Poland, Mussolini would have gone down in history as a great hero.
