I am scheduled to get the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine tomorrow morning. Please pray that it will not affect me adversely. I have already been doing a lot of patio and garden work today, in anticipation of possibly not feeling the best tomorrow and Friday.
This will be OK.

homeschooldad. You should be fine with the first vaccine shot. It's the second one that can be problematic. With first shot your arm may be very sore but very little else. I've had both shots with the Moderna and other family members have had Pfizer. Side effects have been varied and individualized but every one breezed through the first jab. My sister and I both had the Moderna and my second one laid me low with the expected immune response for a few days where as my sister only had minimal symptoms. One of my brothers had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine and did not experience any symptoms with either. My daughter and son in law had Pfizer also and had all of listed side effects with their second dose. Even so they were better in a few days. The parents of my daughter in law had the one and done J&J vaccine without problems. Good luck to you!

(There was nothing "urgent" about it, that's just where I was able to get the appointment.) My arm was a little tingly for about five minutes, but that was it. I went on shopping and to fill the car up with gas. The second shot is scheduled three weeks from today.
Thankfully, it is the non-abortion-derived Pfizer vaccine.
I am deeply disappointed that many "conservative", orthodox, traditionalist, whatever word you want to use (they mean slightly different things) Catholics have taken such an independent-minded, stubborn, contrarian view of the COVID phenomenon. I suppose it is just one more manifestation of the siege mentality, coupled with the regime change in the government that no pro-life people wanted to see --- in their minds, it is as though everything has coalesced at once. Correlation does not imply causation.

Well, it's been 24 hours now (Pfizer, first dose), and I'm walking on sunshine. I've got some gardening to do, and need to make a run up to Lowe's. Already had two Morningstar Farms soy sausage (Friday), egg, and cheese sandwiches. Never a dull moment at the brownstone of HomeschoolDad and HomeschoolSon.

Already had two Morningstar Farms soy sausage (Friday), egg, and cheese sandwiches. Never a dull moment at the brownstone of HomeschoolDad and HomeschoolSon. They said the same about the AstraZeneca jab, now it causes blood clots which nobody knows the long term implications of. As I said before, immediate side effects are only 1 small portion, it's the long term ADE side effects I am waiting to see. I'm fine if people want to take the risk with a rushed to market Vaccine and radically new method with no long term data, but I'm not okay when people are coerced or forced to be guinea pigs by unethical pharmaceutical giants who are immune from liability, and now millions of people have already had the AstraZeneca jab and now it turns out there are side effects to it that effects under 50's who in turn were not at high risk of dying from covid anyway, but they will be at high risk if they develop one of these blood clots. Pfizer and Moderna do also have strong links to Abortion with the testing phase, Pfizer and Moderna are not like the AstraZeneca in that the AstraZeneca is a DNA Vaccine and Pfizer/Moderna are mRNA which is supposed to be safer, however the problem is how long it sticks around and the possibility of ' Reverse Transcription', because if it gets taken into your DNA there is nothing to stop it's replication, your permanently altered, and the big card with all of them are the possible and IMO highly likely ' Antibody Dependent Enhancement' (ADE) side effects with new strains, that are geared to adapt and survive and will use such artificial anti bodies against you making it worse, but a win for Big Pharma, who will just throw another bad Vaccine at it and a win for those like Bill Gates who wants to reduce the world's population and practically runs the Vaccine industry. In saying that I don't want to scare you, but at least your aware and I hope it goes well for you, but I'm certainly not going anywhere near it and would strongly advise others likewise, and hope people will have at least some humility after these very early severe side effects such as with the AstraZeneca jab that millions of people have already taken, and when under 50 has made the cure worse then the disease, and that's just very very early side effects that they couldn't hide anymore. And people were pushing and encouraging these AstraZeneca Jab's even AFTER the blood clot issue was known about and being investigated. Also if you change your mind and don't get the 2nd dose, it will not last as long or produce as much of it, reducing the likelihood of Reverse Transcription and the effects of Antibody Dependent Enhancement, although they may still effect you, they will effect you more after a 2nd dose and if they occur there is not a thing you can do about it after the 2 jabs. God Bless

Under other circumstances, "rushed to market" would not be the way to go, by any stretch of the imagination. That much, I will concede.

We all got our first dose of the Moderna this a.m. No effects other than son's arm is sore. I told him they probably hit his bone since he is so skinny.
One month until the second dosage.

We recently flew to Florida a high covid state from another high volume covid state. No vax. We relied on masks and hand sanitizer and washing hands.
I don't want as blood clot or my children infertile.
Long term effects are unknown. This vax was rushed. Perhaps next year.

And an interesting news story a day or two ago: “People may need a THIRD vaccine next year as well.” Pharma is going to ride this one as long as the money comes in. Dominus vobiscum

Progress report ---
I received the first Pfizer shot two weeks ago, and experienced nothing more than a couple days of not feeling the greatest, that was two or three days after I'd had the vaccine, it may have been a reaction --- a bit feverish, bogus stomach, kind of sleepy --- or it may have just been lack of sleep and balanced diet, due to elder care responsibilities. Often I have to get up in the middle of the night and go across the street to help my father toilet, and then, given my nature, it takes me 60 to 90 minutes to get back to sleep when we're done.
I will get the second Pfizer shot this coming Thursday (29 April), then, supposedly, I should be all set, at least a couple of weeks down the road. Will keep everyone posted.
If it changes my DNA, or leaves me sterile, or whatever, it doesn't really matter, I have far more yesterdays than tomorrows, and at age 60, even assuming I would ever remarry (that would take an annulment first, something that may never happen), I don't foresee fathering any more children. Anyone I would ever marry, would be past childbearing years anyway. (Or at least it would be highly imprudent for me to become a father again, or to marry someone for whom conception was a possibility, I'd be in my 80s when our child graduated from high school! You can compensate for everything else in life except for age. And I'm enjoying life too much as a bachelor anyway, there is no SWMBO factor, that's something I would never put up with.)

My husband and I both got the Pfizer vaccine. Both shots. No problems, no side effects. We got it as soon as we could, as soon as the health service contacted me to make an appointment. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted the vaccination. I was prepared to walk over people to get it! I can't imagine not wanting the protection that it gives.

Still not convinced to get it. Not enough research. Some say Pfizer jab gives you shingles. I've had shingles in my 20s yes 20s and it is painful. I got shingles last year. This is because of no varicella vax when I was young. So I got chicken pox.
Shingles feel like an open sore someone keeps stabbing. And punching.
For me, these corona virus vaccines remind me of thamaldicide babies. I am not a risk group. I would never get this vax for my kids ..yet. I'm just observing.
